What's Coming and What to Look For on the PSKM/UK blog

With the tempo of activity for PSKM in the UK increasing over the last couple of years, it is the prime moment to breathe new life into my PSKM blog.  What you can expect to find here are:

  • New postings on the history, structure, content and training of the art;
  • Reposting items from the PSKM/UK Facebook page that have become buried in the page's chronology and are worth keeping more visible for those interested in the art;
  • Information about and links to my published articles on PSKM in particular and, occasionally, the martial arts more generally (including stuff for the UK's Martial Arts Studies Research Network headed by Professor Paul Bowman at the University of Cardiff).
  • Notifications and after-action discussions of PSKM/UK events and activities.
Most of the basics you might want to know about the art can be found on the PSKM corporate or headquarters webpage.  PSKM is recognised by the International Pencak Silat Federation (Persekutuan Pencak Silat Antarabangsa), and the UK branch is a member of the Pencak Silat Federation UK (PSF/UK).

And a necessary disclaimer: the views expressed here are purely my own and should not be attributed to Paatje Richard Kudding, PSKM as a corporate whole.  This blog is about my take on the art based on having started training in PSKM in June of 1981 (yes, I remember the date - 6 June 1981), and spending several years training Hung Kuen in Toronto's Old Chinatown, silat in Singapore and Malaysia, and (too brief a) time researching the roots of the art in Java.

Selamat latihan,
